Sleeping Days…

I stayed up all night last night, went to bed around 6 am, and woke up this afternoon at 2, so, I had enough sleep, I just feel all screwed up. I didn’t take much time for food when I got up, I just didn’t feel that hungry or that interested in making something, so, I had an Amy’s burrito and now, I’m going to call my dad, see where he is, it’s Father’s Day and he’s working (at home) so, I’m gonna head home and hang with him. Happy Father’s Day!

Brownies!

This evening, the fam went out to dinner, but Dad said he didn’t think he could handle being around all the meat, I don’t like it, but, it especially bothers him, so, we stayed home and he had the last of the vegan mac and cheese and I had some garlic and oil pasta. Then, I made these insanely good chewy chocolate cookies from the ppk, so, so good! They’re just like brownies and as you see below, we’ve already eaten 3 of them (one per person, they’re really rich!). And, it only took me 30 minutes total to make 2 dozen!

When the fam gets back, we’ll be hanging out and the guys’ll dive into a few more beers and we’ll hang and probably talk about all the great things Barack will do to the white house.

Anger

I’m feeling quite angry, probably more so because I’m PMS’ing at the moment than what the actual argument was about, but, it got me fired up…I’m deep breathing, but goddamnit, that just doesn’t work when anger is combined with hormones…

I’m back!

So, the night before last, I made these yummy chocolate strawberries and bananas, they were delish!

So simple, but so good!

I went to Whole Foods today and got some toaster waffles and organic pancake syrup (I didn’t know anyone made healthy pancake syrup, I HATE maple syrup and I wanted my Butterworth’s back and I found a healthy one!) and some other things, including the ingredients for vegan mac & cheese, yumm!

It was so, so good! I also found a dark chocolate sauce that happened to also be vegan, so, I’m thinking soy ice cream, strawberries, and chocolate sauce for dessert. We’ll see…

Long Time, No See

Such a strange phrase.

Any-who, I’ve been really busy again with work and so, I haven’t been blogging as much as I should be, my apologies.

So, I’ve been so busy working, I’ve been eating really boring food, so, no baking and no fun picture taking, so, it’s going to be a quite boring post, but I’ll start taking food pics again tomorrow.

Looks like I’ve run out of things to say, just wanted to let you know I was alive.

Check out what I’ve been working on.

Yumminess!

Ok, so, I want to start this post by saying that I don’t have any pics, sorry!

Anyway, I’ve spent most of my time the past few days working on the mag so I haven’t had a lot of time, but I did manage to make an insanely good vegan mac & cheese last night…and tonight, it was so good I had to make it again! It’s the recipe from Skinny Bitch In the Kitch and it was soooooo incredibly yummy! You have to make it!

In other news…I’ve been working a lot on the mag, I guess I don’t have other news.

Have a good night!

Dinner

For dinner, we had burritos with tortilla chips and chili. It was yummy and now, I’m going to watch Two & a Half Men and I plan on having strawberry Rice Dream for dessert. Nighty night.

No breakfast today, for lunch, I had some Boca nuggets with ketchup, a bagelette, and some strawberries. I went to Target to get some weights and resistance bands, then, I came home and I’ve been hanging out listening to Charlotte Sometimes while I made some updates to the blog, I’m going to have some watermelon and watch some TV, then, I think I might clean the kitchen, but dad makes a big mess when I’m not here, so, it’s all messy, I my save that for him. =)

And, Maisy just woke up from his afternoon nap to share it with me. =)
He does love him some watermelon!

Culture

So, breakfast was Kashi cereal with bananas and almond milk.

and we went to the Norton Simon Museum and The Huntington, it was lovely and we had a little picnic in the shade near these beautiful purple trees.

Lunch was tofurkey sandwiches, baked chips, and strawberries .

We really enjoyed the museum and at The Huntington, they have gorgeous botanical gardens and art galleries. At the Norton Simon I specifically enjoyed Norton Simon’s biographical film and the painting Cleopatra’s Suicide. At The Huntington, the brand new Chinese Garden was beautiful as was the rose garden, the Zen garden, and the Lily Ponds.

Chinese Garden

If you ever visit Pasadena, CA, be sure to put The Huntington on your to-see list, it’s a fantastic place! I haven’t had dinner yet, but I had some chips and dip, so, I’m not hungry at the moment, I may have a burrito for dinner.

Yuck.

So, the overnight oatmeal was an overwhelming failure, it wasn’t burnt or anything, just tasteless.

I made regular oatmeal instead and blanched diced apples in some agave and cinnamon to add along with vanilla almond milk, it also was disgusting, what is it about homemade oatmeal that it can’t absorb flavor? I really miss my instant oatmeal =(

The two offending parties.

and the chocolate biscuit I had instead =)
